Proto was the first hand tool manufacturer to produce and market the
combination wrench in the United States. Among the many styles of
wrenches produced by Proto are: standard, extra long and short
combination, flex- head, open end, angle head, box, deep offset box,
ratcheting box, obstruction, adjustable, flare nut, striking, slugging,
construction, spanner and pipe. These Proto wrenches incorporate a
wide range of both fractional and metric wrench openings, along with
satin, high polish, and Protoblack™ black oxide finishes, designed to
meet any industrial requirement.
PROTO ANTI-SLIP DESIGN (ASD) WRENCHES
The patented Proto Anti-Slip Design wrench features a locking groove
to help prevent slipping. Traditional wrenches often slip, causing
fastener damage and knuckle injury. Fastener damage also occurs by
concentrating forces at the corners with point-to-point contact. The
arched surface of the Proto Anti-Slip Design wrench spreads the force
over a 400% larger contact area, to help prolong the fastener life.
PROTO TORQUEPLUS WRENCHES
The box end of Proto wrenches incorporates the TorquePlus™
wrenching system. This high performance design allows the wrench to
contact the fastener away from the corner while also dispersing the
stress over a larger area. It allows up to 15% more torque to be
applied to the fastener. Reduces the risk of fastener rounding and
provides a better grip on worn, rounded fasteners.
